Above are some actual pictures that NASA'S Hubble Telescope have taken from out side of our galaxy (the pics are so abstract they almost look fake). Just to give you a picture of how... how......huge? big? neat? cool? (I dont even know what to say)... the Heavens are... I'm giving a few facts that you may or may not already know.

Our galaxy, The Milky Way is only ONE of BILLIONS of galaxies! Our solar system is made up of an average star we call the Sun, the planets; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The Milky Way is 100,000 LIGHT YEARS wide and 1000 LIGHT YEARS thick and consists of at least 100,000,000,000 Stars! One Light Year = 9,460,000,000,000km. The Sun is a relatively small star in comparison with the giants in the Universe. The most important difference between our Sun and other stars is that the Sun is just closer to Earth than any other stars.

If the sun were about the size of a tennis ball (5.4cm) then the earth would be smaller than a grain of sand. (0.5mm)
If the sun was no bigger than a tennis ball, it would be 19 feet away from the earth. Alpha Centauri, one of the closest stars to earth, would be 890 miles away. (thats like going from Chicago to Boston) Remember thats in relation to the ball and sand.
Light travels about 184, 282 miles per second. It takes about 8 minutes and 20 seconds for a ray of light to leave the sun and reach the earth.
It takes about 4 years for a ray of light to leave Alpha Centauri and reach the earth. In order for a spacecraft to merely break free of the Earth's gravity, it requires a speed, known as the escape velocity, of at least 40,300 kilometers per hour (25,000 miles per hour) with respect to Earth. A trip to that next closest star would take THE fastest rocket thousands of years! Humans could spend several lifetimes just to reach the outer edge of our galaxy, and yet our Milky Way is just a grain of sand in the Vast Beach of galaxies!

Now I have a question for you. Considering all these facts and how vast IT is OUT THERE, where does it end?! Does it ever stop?! Does it just go on and on forever?! It has to stop somewhere but I dont think it does! When I really stop and think about this....It's Mind Boggling.... My head Hurts!! It's too much! And that's Gods playground?!
