DONT AVOID THE VOID

"When we feel stuck, going nowhere -- even starting to slip backward -- we may actually be backing up to get a running start."

To change, we must go through a transition zone. It's not easy being in transition. Our thoughts and emotions are in flux. This can create a sense of groundlessness, of being in a void that can be quite uncomfortable.

When we’re in THE void, our first impulse will be to revert to old patterns because thats what feels most comfortable. But our goal is to HANG ON until the change is complete. Knowing that TRANSITIONS are part of the "change process", helps gain the courage needed to put up with the discomfort, the uneasiness, the void.

Change requires a letting go of what we’ve always known and done to allow in something new. We need to trust GOD and ourselves to unfold a new reality for us................

Hey Tina!
:)
Well.... it stemmed from many convos with my cool mom, which was the intoduction to the inspiration I felt after reading a small piece of literature, and then brought to life on my blog when I realized I couldn't contain it anymore!!

I always like seeing "holmessellshomes" on my blog.... it makes me smile on anyday ending in "Y"!!!!
LOVE YOU!! and YES, the void is uncomfortable no matter what it may be!

EXCELLENT! so nicely put, and I can testify to that. That feelign has made some changes in my life. Gives you butterflies thinking about it. Only someone who feels it can explain it so well, both the void and the changes. Very thoughful and thought provoking.

Well its 1:15AM and I just got back from coffee with my mom and still we continue to talk about this void thingy!! A new addition though....... once you come to the realization that there is a void somewhere in your life, FILL THAT BABY UP!!
.GO GONERS IN GOD. take a course. plant a garden. learn a new language. take tap dance. feed the ducks. color code your closet. make a new friend. volunteer. make homemade pasta noodles. write a poem. put on your rain boots and stomp up a storm..... knowing your gonna weather the storm!!

(excuse me while I talk to myself here)
: )

Transition is so hard!!!!!!!

A song that helps me with transition is "I'm movin on" by Rascal Flatts or, more recently, Jonathan Moore.

If it involves a relationship... "Starts with goodbye" by Carrie Underwood.
